Due to above reason, we only need to set fs as dirty when meta data is updated, so that we can skip writing checkpoint in some case of non-meta data is updated. Actually, most of check operation is unneeded since we only need to update cached entries with journaled entries in batch, so changing the flow as below for more efficient: 1. load all sit entries into cache from sit pages; 2. update sit entries with journal. But previously, the calculation of preallocating block number is incorrect, fix it. Previously, if new inode is created as an encrypted one, f2fs will transfer encrypted filename to security module which may fail the check of security policy belong to the inode. So in order to this issue, alter to transfer original unencrypted filename instead. Possible scenario would be: 1. dir->setxattr used by per-file encryption 2. file->setxattr goes into inline_xattr 3. file->fsync In that case, we should do checkpoint for #1. Otherwise we'd lose dir's key information for the file given #2. Now, f2fs can only detect multimedia filename with specified format: "filename + '.' + extension", so it will make f2fs missing to detect multimedia file with special temporary name, result in failing to set cold flag on file. This patch enhances detection flow for enabling lookup extension in the middle of temporary filename. But, when user tries to update the entire page (i.e., len == PAGE_SIZE), we need to consider that the page is able to be copied partially afterwards. In such the case, we will lose the remaing region in the page. This patch fixes this by setting PageUptodate in f2fs_write_end as given copied result. In the short copy case, it returns zero to let generic_perform_write retry copying user data again. It is not make sence, since it will be not convenient if developer want to test separated partitions with different fault injection rate/type simultaneously, also it's not possible to enable fault injection in one partition and disable fault injection in other one. >From now on, we move global configuration of fault injection in module into per-superblock, hence injection testing can be more flexible. This patch splits free nid list to two list: {free,alloc}_nid_list, to keep free nids and preallocated free nids separately, after that, traverse latency will be gone, besides split nid_cnt for separate statistic. The ZBC/ZAC standards enable management of SMR disks, but solid state drives may also support those standards. So rename the HMSMR feature to BLKZONED to avoid a HDD centric terminology. For the same reason, rename f2fs_sb_mounted_hmsmr to f2fs_sb_mounted_blkzoned. Indeed, we only care about persistence for pages with metadata, but not pages with data, as file system consistent are only related to metadate, so in order to avoid encountering long latency in above scenario, let's recognize and reference metadata in submitted IOs, wait writeback only for metadatas. Thread B lock one dirty node page, and wait this page write back. But this page has been in plug list of thread A with PG_writeback flag. Thread A keep on running and its plug list has no chance to finish, so it seems a deadlock between cp and fsync path. This patch add a wait on page write back before set node page dirty to avoid this problem. Currently we have introduced DIRTY_META global list in sbi for tracking dirty inode selectively, so in fdatasync we can choose to flush nodes depend on dirty state of current inode in the list. If the process is in seccomp mode 1, this query will kill the process (prctl not allowed), if the process is in mode 2 with prctl not allowed, it will similarly be killed, and in weird cases, if prctl is filtered to return errno 0, it can look like seccomp is disabled. When reviewing the state of running processes, there should be a way to externally examine the seccomp mode. ("Did this build of Chrome end up using seccomp?" "Did my distro ship ssh with seccomp enabled?") This adds the "Seccomp" line to /proc/$pid/status. We've gotten around this by having our own file_update_time but this is kind of a pain, and Christoph has indicated he would like to make xfs do something different with atime updates. So introduce ->update_time, where we will deal with i_version an a/m/c time updates and indicate which changes need to be made. The normal version just does what it has always done, updates the time and marks the inode dirty, and then filesystems can choose to do something different. I've gone through all of the users of file_update_time and made them check for errors with the exception of the fault code since it's complicated and I wasn't quite sure what to do there, also Jan is going to be pushing the file time updates into page_mkwrite for those who have it so that should satisfy btrfs and make it not a big deal to check the file_update_time() return code in the generic fault path. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Userspace processes often have multiple allocators that each do anonymous mmaps to get memory. When examining memory usage of individual processes or systems as a whole, it is useful to be able to break down the various heaps that were allocated by each layer and examine their size, RSS, and physical memory usage. This patch adds a user pointer to the shared union in vm_area_struct that points to a null terminated string inside the user process containing a name for the vma. vmas that point to the same address will be merged, but vmas that point to equivalent strings at different addresses will not be merged. Userspace can set the name for a region of memory by calling prctl(PR_SET_VMA, PR_SET_VMA_ANON_NAME, start, len, (unsigned long)name); Setting the name to NULL clears it. The names of named anonymous vmas are shown in /proc/pid/maps as [anon:<name>] and in /proc/pid/smaps in a new "Name" field that is only present for named vmas. If the userspace pointer is no longer valid all or part of the name will be replaced with "<fault>". The idea to store a userspace pointer to reduce the complexity within mm (at the expense of the complexity of reading /proc/pid/mem) came from Dave Hansen. This results in no runtime overhead in the mm subsystem other than comparing the anon_name pointers when considering vma merging. The pointer is stored in a union with fieds that are only used on file-backed mappings, so it does not increase memory usage. In such the case, it needs to merge cache_flush commands as much as possible to avoid issuing them redundantly. So, this patch introduces a mount option, "-o flush_merge", to mitigate such the overhead. If this option is enabled by user, F2FS merges the cache_flush commands and then issues just one cache_flush on behalf of them. Once the single command is finished, F2FS sends a completion signal to all the pending threads. Note that, this option can be used under a workload consisting of very intensive concurrent fsync calls, while the storage handles cache_flush commands slowly. The first abuse means that use of FD_ZERO() on these fd_sets is not permitted, since that cannot be told about their abnormal lengths. The Protocol specifies two login hints. 1. An IP address:port combination 2. A string URI which is constructed as a URL with a protocol prefix followed by :// and a string as address. For each protocol prefix the string-address format might be different. We only support the second option. The first option is just redundant to the second one. NOTE: The Kernel part of autologin does not parse the URI string. It just channels it to a user-mode script. So any new login protocols should only update the user-mode script which is a part of the nfs-utils package, but the Kernel need not change. We implement the autologin by using the call_usermodehelper() API. (Thanks to Steve Dickson <steved@redhat.com> for pointing it out) So there is no running daemon needed, and/or special setup. We Add the osd_login_prog Kernel module parameters which defaults to: /sbin/osd_login Kernel try's to upcall the program specified in osd_login_prog. If the file is not found or the execution fails Kernel will disable any farther upcalls, by zeroing out osd_login_prog, Until Admin re-enables it by setting the osd_login_prog parameter to a proper program.
